This pin is a tribute to past serving members of the Royal Navy Diving Branch, in particular, those brave souls who formed the RN Port Clearance Parties (P-Parties) during the Second World War.
Those courageous skilled men worked in silence and shadow, risking their lives in bombed, mined, and booby-trapped waterways across occupied Europe. In preparation for the D-Day landings and in the critical days that followed, their underwater operations ensured the safe passage of Allied forces. Their efforts, often unheralded, were vital to the success of the liberation of Europe and continued well into the late 1940s.
We remember those very brave men and honour them with pride and gratitude!
